Stanbic and Ministry of Health sign agreement on low-interest loans to government health workers
Stanbic Bank Uganda has signed a partnership with the Ministry of Health to offer a range of low interest loans to health workers across the country.
The loans range from unsecured salary loans to secured loans, mortgages, vehicle and asset finance (VAF) loans.
Speaking at the signing ceremony in Kampala on Monday, October 18, 2021, Ms Anne Juuko, Managing Director of Stanbic Bank Uganda, said Ugandan health workers deserve help, especially in these times of Covid- 19.
“When I think of everyday heroes, I think of our health workers,” Juuko said.
“Health workers deserve the best. Every health worker deserves a home. At Stanbic Bank, we will accompany them on this journey and support their dreams, ”he added.
In response, Dr Diana Atwine Kanzira, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, thanked Stanbic Bank for always identifying with the Ministry of Health and supporting them on various fronts.
She said these affordable loans will bring a lot of changes in the lives of health workers and their families.
“Many doctors are just trained in medicine and save lives. Stanbic Uganda’s free financial education will help medical workers achieve their financial dreams, ”said Dr Atwiine.
As part of this partnership, government health workers will have the right to open a current bank account with no monthly fees.
