The INFB is accepting applications for the 2022 Young Farmers and Agricultural Professionals Awards

Indiana Farm Bureau is now accepting nominations for its 2022 Young Farmers & Ag Professionals Awards. Each year, the INFB rewards member farmers and agricultural professionals between the ages of 18 and 35 with the Achievement and Excellence in Agriculture awards.

The Excellence Award recognizes young INFB members who derive the majority of their income from production agriculture and are judged on their involvement in leadership and farm management techniques. The Excellence in Agriculture Award honors members who do not derive the majority of their income from a production farm operation, but who actively contribute and build their involvement in the Farm Bureau and agriculture.

Winners and runners-up of both prizes are eligible for cash prizes. Winners will also receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2023 American Farm Bureau Federation Convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico, January 6-11.

The Excellence Award winner will receive a cash prize of $11,000, donated by Bane Welker Equipment and Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, as well as the David L. Leising Memorial Award. The Agricultural Excellence Award winner will receive a cash prize of $11,000, courtesy of Farm Credit Mid-America and Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance.

Finalists for both awards receive a $1,000 cash prize from Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance.

Eligible nominees must be voting members of the INFB between the ages of 18 and 35 as of January 31, 2023 and must also be residents of Indiana.

Applicants must submit their application through the online portal no later than May 1, 11:59 p.m. EST. Scanned or emailed entries will not be accepted. The finalists will be announced in August.
